About us
We Are The Right Men is a program and an initiative
under the umbrella of Grooming The Executive NPC (GTE),
We are the Right Men
A Non Profit Organization
that aims to ignite the character of solution seeking in our young people, irrespective of color, creed and economic status, to rebuild our nation, our country and the continent.
With a team of mature young men and the stewardship of mature elderly men, matters of Gender Based Violence are being tackled in the manner they never have before.
Do Tigers not cry?
Many cultures socialize boy children (ultimately men of tomorrow) to believe that Tigers do not cry and Boys don’t show emotions, they man-up.
The culture of "Tigers do not cry" discouraged many boys from being in touch with their “humane” side. They were discouraged from feeling and embracing pain, to feel fine with expressing their grieve and seeking help… Not only could they not talk to their seniors, but to make matters worse, they couldn’t even talk to their peers.
Eventually such pressure becomes unbearable, and many would end up not knowing how to exhale. They bottle up until they reach a point where they cant contain it anymore and for some, at that stage a lot of damage would have been done, both socially and mentally.
Through the modern (and correct approach) of empowering girl child, boy children have been left behind. This unfortunately has the potential to breed a different psyche of exclusion and alienation…perpetuation f the problem
Through this platform we encourage young men to look at the good side of these developments, be themselves and find correct approach in raising their concerns. To deal with the negative encounters in a humane way… that way their needs will be better articulated, understood by others and managed,
We are The RIGHT Men does NOT encourage young men to go out to communities to try fight the crime. We believe that there are proper structures to do such and if anything, their duty may be to alert such bodies of the known crimes, that’s it!!!
Our aim is to ensure that our participants and members are themselves NOT perpetrators of this crime, not necessarily fighters of crime themselves. We strive to empower them enough to know the triggers and ensure never to fall victims.
The Program aims to open channels through which it is easier and practically possible for young men to become keepers of their brothers, support each other in a constructive manner as they go though the day-to-day challenges and find joy in growing one another as they journey this life together.
Young men and boy children are introduced to a space where they can become shoulders onto which both themselves (to each other), girls, young children and the elderly can cry. Be equals to girl children as well as be each other’s mates, without being judged
